It took me 29 years and LOTS of time, energy, and resources to get to a place where I could honestly say that I was even beginning to tolerate the body that I have.
Making the decision to embrace my body as it is was one of the most pivotal moments of my entire life. After that, EVERYTHING changed. I went from being a chubby, grouchy communications consultant to a successful plus size model, working with clients from around the world, in less than two years.
I know all too well how it feels to be trapped in a toxic relationship with your own body. Feelings of self-loathing and low body confidence left me trapped for so long. But, I am also a woman who was able to move past those feelings, and create the life and career of my dreams. I created the hashtag #healthyatanysize to inspire and empower other women to transform their relationships with their bodies, so they could experience the life-changing affects as well!
What I discovered through #healthyatanysize is that many of us suffer in silence, and by speaking more openly about these issues, we all benefit. So I decided to take steps to open up that dialogue myself!
The goal of Body Love TV is to have honest, incendiary, and transformative dialogue about body issues with some of the most influential women in the plus size fashion and body positivity communities. I will be serving up weekly episodes based on YOUR comments, questions, and feedback. Let me know what you want to see on Body Love TV by commenting on our video posts or submitting online.
